What are the benefits of using platform authentication over custom? Is there anything that you can only do with one or the other?

What are the benefits of using platform authentication over custom? Is there anything that you can only do with one or the other?
If the custom authentication you mean login with customId or deviceId, the custom authentication is anonymous login mechanisms. If the platform authentication you mean login with email, Steam or Facebook etc., they are recoverable login mechanisms.
The benefits of using platform authentication over custom are: first, the platform authentication is recoverable, custom authentication is not recoverable once players loss their accounts; second, the platform authentication accounts can be used on different device. In addition, the playfab features accessible to both login mechanisms are the same.
