Given that our pricing may change, any forum post on this topic is going to be subject to error over time, so it's really best to have pricing discussions in tickets via devrel@playfab.com. That said, and so that everyone has the info for the short term, our current pricing model for our professional tier is indeed $8 per 1,000 MAU, with a monthly minimum of $299. And yes, we provide discounted rates at higher MAU levels, so the first 250K MAU is $8 per 1,000, and the next 250K is $7 per 1,000. The prices keep going down from there.
And as to the 1,000 player accounts part, that's part of our standard pro tier contract. We don't start billing for anything - MAU or monthly minimum - until you have 1,000 registered player accounts. It's specifically so that you don't need to worry about costs during development.
