Asynchronous Turnbased Matchmaking

Hi,

I've read this repeatedly https://community.playfab.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/207129407-Persistent-turn-based-games-

and also studied this example

and read this one too

https://playfab.com/blog/creating-turn-based-asynchronous-matchmaker-without-dedicated-server/

I can almost see what I want is the photon example but tied onto playfab group data for persistence.

My main conclusion is that its complicated.

You've mentioned that a blogupdate for async matchmake is in the pipeline. Is it going to be soon(ish)? Is there an approximate ETA? I have enough to work on for a bit longer (forever.. it seems like)

We don't have a defined date for that example yet, but it is on the list of "recipes" (our new example page - here: http://api.playfab.com/docs/recipe-index/) that our tools team will be building out in the coming weeks. Keep an eye on that page for updates to many common scenarios.

Please if you have questions drop them here i'll happily answer them if I can.

Otherwise to make things go fast you need to tell PlayFab that this is a priority by creating a feature request and voting it. You need to find a number of voters however.

thanks Hamza, I'll work on other bits for a while and hope that a recipe comes through soonish. There seems to be general interest in this topic based on Playfab already having had an example, and the history of questions scattered thru the forums.
