Get display names of users in Entity Group

I have read several older posts regarding the topic, and it seems that there are just workarounds that others are using. I am wondering if a better solution has been implemented yet to get the display names in a simpler way. If not, I guess I'll try some of the other work arounds, but the API call frequency will be a serious issue.

Sorry, there is no further implementation on it so far. You may use other workarounds. Thanks for your understanding.
