The API that makes calls to Playfab had likely been online for a couple weeks, most likely without a restart in that time. Suddenly all the create matchmaking ticket requests were resulting in an error message of "Deadline Exceeded". Restarting the API service resolved the issue.
Does anyone have any experience with this issue and know why it was happening?
