Thanks for your clarification. After researching your billing summary, we can confirm that you were charged due to the usage of PlayFab Multiplayer Servers exceeded the free quota.

As the above answer said, Multiplayer Server only provides 750 free VM core hours, if the usage time exceed 750 core hours, the title that uses PlayFab Multiplayer Servers will be charged.

You can see the 750 free core hours in your billing summary, and see how much the excess is charged. For more information about billing of PlayFab Multiplayer Servers, please check the documentation - Billing for PlayFab Multiplayer Servers 2.0 - PlayFab | Microsoft Docs.

To avoid the continuous billing of Multiplayer Servers, please keep all build regions without any standby servers and active servers. You can navigate to your title's [Game Manager]->[Multiplayer] page, click your builds, and set the [Target standby] and [Maximum] as both 0, then click the submit to shut down all standby servers.

how does it bill that much even there is no player using it?

avatar image Marlon Dimaunahan · Dec 30, 2021 at 04:07 AM 0

meaning you are charging someone even there is no user playing?

As the doc said, MPS is charged by VM instance hours, unused standby servers will also be counted regardless of the number of players as we also need VMs running to host these standby servers.

So, yes, even there is no user playing, you may still be charged as the VM is running.

When testing, please shut down all servers after the test is completed and set the number of standby servers and maximum servers to 0 as Sarah said.

you should Charge if there is someone playing and also there is should be auto stop if the 750 free wash reach.

We can only know the running time when your VM has been shut down. It would be hard for us to auto shut off your build. But thanks for this suggestion, please feel free to post your idea in the Feature Request Forum.

Do you mean you have never upgraded your account to the subscription plans that higher than Free To Start? If so, please note, if you enabled Multiplayer Server or Party for your title, the usage of them may also generate the bill. For PlayFab Multiplayer Server, we provide 750 free VM core hours, if the usage exceed it, you will be charged. Please refer to the documentations Billing for PlayFab Multiplayer Servers 2.0 - PlayFab | Microsoft Docs and PlayFab Party Pricing - PlayFab | Microsoft Docs.

Besides, you can follow this documentation - Billing Summary + Base Rate - PlayFab | Microsoft Docs to check the Billing Summary of your studio to determine the reason of the costs.

If you want to contact our sale team to discuss the bill, you can navigate to our Contact Us page - Contact us (playfab.com) to submit a request.

If you can provide the URL of your studio's Billing Summary. We can help you check why you were charged.

As the documentation - Billing Summary + Base Rate - PlayFab | Microsoft Docs said, to view the Billing Summary page for your studio, navigate to the My Studios and Titles page. Click the ellipsis on the right side of your studio, and then select the Billing summary option in the drop-down.

If you want to contact our sales team to discuss the bill, you can navigate to our Contact Us page - Contact us (playfab.com) to submit a request. If you want to change the subscription, please also contact our sales team on the Contact us (playfab.com) page.

This summary indicates you've run out of the first 750 core hours and used an additional 344 hours for D2as_v4 VM. If you didn't run out the free core hours, the summary would be something like the following:

and also why we have seen a lot of 21 usd from every day. if you say that you usage was per hour meaning it will tell the usage per hour and not per month. we cant see our usage per hour. and if 21usd is per month why did we have nov 13 to nov 22 bill of 21usd . it to be accomulated if that was per day usage. can you send me the usage per day for the multi player. we want exact amount of how did it accomulate 21usd
