Filter Bad Words before setting Display name.

Hi! Question here...

The Display Names of the players should be - ideally - free from any bad language.
This can be done on the client side itself but wouldn't it be great if you can do it from server side?

So you upload a text file with the forbidden bad words to the cloud. And when you do a UpdateUserTitleDisplayName call... the call sends an error message when the Display Name contains bad words.

How are you people doing it?

Cheers!

Mathijs

You can enable bad language filtering on usernames by enabling CommunitySift in our Add-ons Marketplace.

This looks nifty but also pricy. If it's only for checking the display names.

When I read their website they offer also integration with social platforms and chat rooms. According to Photon you can also use it with their chat service. This is really awesome.

However they don't provide any pricing on their website, only a demo request.
Would the add-on provide a Community Sift account with all those features? Or just a PlayFab display names handler?

Our CommunitySift integration is currently for Username checks, as described on the Add-ons Marketplace page for that service, and our pricing is based on the rate we negotiated with Two Hat Security for that feature. Depending on feedback from developers, we may well integrate more of their featureset, so please do let us know if there are specific ones you're interested in.
