The command line parameters are interpreted by your server's code, so realistically, they should be named whatever works for you. The values in angle brackets should remain as-is, since those are the values we generate and pass in on the command line (it's just that the actual command line parameter name can be whatever you want). The batchmode parameter is in there as it's a common parameter in most servers which basically means "don't require human intervention" - no confirmation dialog boxes, etc.
