leaderboards and up-to-date usernames

Hi,

We currently have a possible cert issue because user names in leaderboards do not reflect recent gamertags changes. (XR-048 on xboxes, but I expect it may also be a TRC violation on PS4/5)

Let's say a player changes his gamertag, and he has played the game before so appear in the leaderboards, but does not launch the game after the change.

Someone else looking at the leaderboards will see the old gamertag, not the up-to-date one.

We already use the linked account username from the leaderboard results, not the display name (we set it but it's only for convenience in PlayFab web interface). But even this username does not seem to be changed on PlayFab.

At least until the player logs in again when launching the game, at this stage his playfab linked account is updated.

Does that mean that whenever we retrieve leaderboards we need to manually request account information from Steam/Live/PSN for every entry in the boards?

Or is there a way to get PlayFab to automatically refresh linked accounts info?

It is not specific to xbox, the same issue happens with Steam.

My question is how does PlayFab refresh linked accounts information?

As far as we know, your guess could be right. You need to refresh it manually.

But for such questions, we would suggest you contact the Xbox support for more detailed help. Xbox developer forum has the specific support who will help you solve the problems for PlayFab.
