Possible to swap US regions with SEA regions with free tier account for development?

Hi there,

We are a development studio in SEA region and are creating multiplayer games targeted at SEA region (other regions will come at a later time).

Will it be possible for us to have access to SEA region servers instead of the US servers? We can do with only 2 SEA regions and others locked (just like how free tier users have only 2 US region and others locked) so we can test our games out with Playfabs SEA region servers.

A similar case is here:

Hope to receive some feedback on this ;)

Yes, you can navigate to [Game Manager]->[Multiplayer]->[Servers]->[Quota], then click the [Change quota] button in the upper right corner to open the [Quota Change] page. You can submit the region change request on the page. Please check this documentation -- Managing quota changes - PlayFab | Microsoft Docs for more details.

Please bear in mind that all use of game server hosting outside the limited free hours we provide in specific server models, and specific regions (as shown in our pricing page and the multiplayer server hosting documentation) is charged at the rates shown in our server hosting docs. Also, it's important to always remember that Standby servers are VMs running 100% dedicated to your title, as they are VMs that have been provisioned for your title and loaded with your build, so that they are ready to launch immediately when needed. When you're not actively testing while in development, we recommend shutting down all VMs by setting your standby level to 0, so that you're not continuing to consume VM hours.

Hello @Sarah Zhang, we were able to get the quota for SEA server in our development account. However, we noticed that we were charged usage fees for the VM.

We are still in development and is under the impression that the Free VM hours in inclusive?

Please see my note, above. We provide limited free CPU (Core) hours in specific regions and server models, as described in the doc page I linked. That applies to all tiers.

Hello @Brendan @Sarah Zhang, thnx for the reply.

As we are SEA developer and our target is to release in SEA it would be irrelevant for us to test in US/EU server. We are developing a multiplayer realtime action game and the latency difference is significant (200/300+ ms in US/EU vs 100< ms in SEA servers)

May we know is there any way for us to test our games with the development account without any charges in SEA? Perhaps we can give up our US/EU free VM hours in exchange for SEA/ASIA VM hours?
