Externally hosted game servers - Is doc still up to date?

Hello everyone.

I was just wondering if the diagram at the bottom of the page it is still valid.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/gaming/playfab/features/multiplayer/servers/using-externally-hosted-games-servers-with-playfab

Cheers.

Looking at the forums, I can find something a bit closer to what I want to achieve with matchmaking 2.0, something like

https://community.playfab.com/questions/40553/will-the-option-to-add-external-servers-be-readded.html

Could you point me to any API reference/Best Practices to go into that direction?

Since currently we ‘re not deprecating the old matchmaking system (related APIs are still in our SDKs or documentation), therefore the diagram in the doc you mentioned above is still valid. And, please note that at some point, with the release of matchmaking 2.0, we will be deprecating it, which means that it will no longer be in our SDKs or documentation. However, we do have a firm “no breaking changes” policy, as long as there are pre-existing titles still using it, it will continue to work.

Now, with the new matchmaking 2.0 system, firstly, API references can be found in here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/playfab/multiplayer/matchmaking?view=playfab-rest; secondly, please note that currently it does not natively support external server hosting therefore you will need to implement an external agent server by yourself, and, there are no docs on Best Practices for this right now. If you find that necessary for you, please post a feature request here in this forum: https://community.playfab.com/spaces/24/index.html, more votes can help us prioritize our work.
