we are trying to prevent the user logging in from multiple devices/browsers.
We've read the solutions that are proposed here and here but they seem very inefficient and "hacky", with a lot of things that can go wrong.
In those threads there is the promise of better support for this functionality, so it's been 5 years, is there a better solution to handle multiple logins ?
While we do have this on our backlog, our priorities are not driven by the length of time things have been on the backlog, but by strategic importance of features and the feedback from our community. For the latter, the question we ask is, how many developers have we heard this from (both in the forums and in in-person discussions). As you can see from the Feature Requests forum space (https://community.playfab.com/spaces/24/index.html?sort=votes), the feature has had a few requests, but it is clearly not the highest priority for our community. We do plan to move to a token-based auth system in future, which would provide for this by default, but we don't have a date for that yet, so we'd recommend using one of the solutions you pointed to for now.
