Pros and cons of player data vs player statistics vs virtual currency for recording player experience points?

I've read other posts on this topic, mostly comparing recording player experience points as "player data" vs "player statistics". It seems like player experience points could also be created as a virtual currency. What are the pros and cons of each approach?

For context, we have a web app that would update the player's experience points using the Javascript client triggered by events in the app.

All roads lead to Rome. These three features are all capable of storing experiences and it really depends on your specific needs. In terms of Player Data, since it supports JSON format, you may store the experience as a part of a structured data (for example, adding timestamp of the last update into it, for later analysis). While if it is statistics, it means you may also own a leaderboard in the meantime. However, the value of statistics is an integer, which means it cannot store an extremely large number. Regarding VC, it can be increased automatically by time via configuring Recharge Rate.

Moreover, you may also note the limits of these resources are varies. I don’t know what’s your subscription plan, but please choose the most sufficient source of your game title since number of VC and Statistics are quite limited for Essential Tier user. For more information, please navigate to [Game Manager] → [Title Settings] → [Limits].
