Intended use of Catalog Version?

I'm confused what the intended use of Catalog Version is.

Can anyone provide some examples of use cases for having multiple catalog versions, and what their names would be?

Thanks!

The idea is that you define all items for your game in a single catalog, sub-dividing them in Stores for cases where you want to get a subset of the items. Then, when you have a major update to your game where you need to change properties of things in the catalog, add or remove them, etc., you create a new catalog version with all the items for that update, do all your testing, and then when it's released change that to be the Primary catalog. But they can be named anything you want. :)

Makes sense - I'll probably be using it as pseudo version control like you described. Thanks!
