Request:
Implementation of an API to send the user a "CHANGE LOGIN EMAIL" e-mail just like the "CHANGE PASSWORD" e-mail? OR an API for ADMINS only to change user login email? (Preferably both)
Why its feasable:
There is already a way for admins to change a user email inside the PlayFab dashboard, so it wouldn't be a security flaw, and PlayFab is also used as database for other types of apps (not only games), so its only logical to liberate a way for the user to change their login emails.
(Click on a user > Click on unlock login email > Type any other email > Save)
Pros:
Users would have a way to change their email.
Developers could create cloud scripts for the user to change his email inside the title app.
Ability to create a way for the user to verify their email, before it being attributed to their account. Preventing their accounts from being stole.
A way to automatize some requests.
The API may already exist, just release it to title admins.
Cons:
PlayFab developers would have another thing to document.
Nothing else.
Context:
We DO NOT want to change the contact email.
Our users been complaining that there is no way to change the login email without talking to a developer. And we've have quite a lot of requests, becoming a pain to do it manually, and it also breaks user trust.
We do a lot of game ports from other platforms to PlayFab. Most games we work on are old games, and changing the login system at the current state of those games can be quite expensive for our clients, and they mostly prefere not to, as it would require to change basically the entire game system to work together with a new form of login, and they don't want to spend a dime on older games, but want to keep them online. PlayFab would be the best option for that, but this problems make our clients rethink the implementation and choose other platforms.
