how to add a inventory item that expires in 1 day ?

Hi, I am looking for adding something like daily bonus. So when user claims it I want to grant him some inventory item maybe which expires after 24 hours.

So if user claims again I would like to check if his inventory contains the item and then not award again.

How to make this possible? Is this possible?

Is there some better way to achieve this?

Yes, when you create the item definition in the inventory, in the upper right you'll see the Consumable section. Select the "consumable" radio button. Then, under "By time", enter 1, and select "Days" in the dropdown.
