Hello,

Does Playfab's real money purchase flow support Steam / Steam Wallet purchases?

Thank you for your time (and in particular thanks for your help over Twitter - you helped me get a nice handy-dandy item editor up and running right inside the Unity IDE)

Yes, Steam purchasing is supported via the three-step purchase flow for non-receipt validation real world purchases (StartPurchase, PayForPurchase, ConfirmPurchase). For Steam, you would need to get an Application ID and Secret Key for your game from Steam, and add those to your configuration in the Game Manager (Settings -> Properties, and click the Steam tab). Now that said, we are aware of one issue with Steam purchasing (no existing titles are impacted) which will be fixed by the end of this month (November 2014). As soon as it is, we'll be publishing a complete write-up on in-game purchasing using PlayFab. And if you have an urgent need to start testing sooner, please drop us a line at devrel@playfab.com, so that we can talk through what options are available.

I was mostly just curious, really. I'm not even close to having a game ready for Steam Greenlight, mostly just wanted to know if Steam Wallet was supported as a matter of curiosity.

A writeup would be nice, would be great to see examples of how to pay via Paypal, Steam Wallet, etc.

PayPal is indeed one of the other supported providers. We'll get the write up out on this soon - thanks!

Updating this with the latest:

We currently have, as stated above, support for Steam purchasing (in addition to receipt validation for iTunes and Google Play). Support for Amazon and PayPal exists in our legacy code base, but to date, we have had very few titles inquire about them (and almost none with specific requirements and dates). Since we prioritize based upon our community's needs, this work has been pushed out to later in 2015. If PayPal or Amazon payments are a priority for your title, we strongly encourage you to communicate that need, and the specific dates you're shooting for, to us at devrel@playfab.com. Thanks!
